The beginning of the Instructor Training pathway and is suitable for all who are wishing to introduce people to paddlesport.
This is a 2 day practical and theoretical course which is delivered on very sheltered water and aiming to qualify the instructor to conduct introductory, taster sessions and simple journeys in a variety of stable paddlesport craft on very sheltered water.
Students of this course must be British Canoeing Members and be registered with British Canoeing for the award.
The paddler should be able to manoeuvre their chosen craft to a standard suitable to be able to instruct from and perform sufficient safety and rescue, should it be required.
The appropriate pre-requisite is an FSRT.
