Rock Climbing Instructor Courses

We provide both training and assessment phases of this award scheme, as well as mentoring if required. The Training course is 3 days for those without a prior Climbing Wall Instructor qualification, and will include a day at the climbing wall, or is a 2 day if you do have a Climbing Wall Instructor qualification. 

The assessment course is 2 days in duration and includes a visit to a climbing wall to conduct part of the syllabus.

Rock Climbing Instructor courses are designed to facilitate the development of Climbing Instructors in the UK who operate outside and indoors, on single-pitch crag environments and at climbing walls. They provide bottom and top rope sessions, as well as abseil sessions. They are competent to lead at Severe on traditional rock climbs in the UK placing gear and have been trained and assessed to conduct the types of sessions they would usually provide for groups looking to undertake climbing.

Rock Climbing Instructor Training 
You're a rock climber, you want to instruct rock climbing, you want to share your passion for climbing. Why wouldn't others want to learn rock climbing from you?

This course is the pathway to becoming a Rock Climbing Instructor and will show you how to rig climbs and abseils for others and for groups. 
You will get a practical, hands on course of rigging set ups, rigging abseils, using climbing equipment, getting feedback on your climbing, dealing with common simple problems to solve, running sessions at a climbing wall amongst many other skills.

This is a 3 day course, with one day being spent indoors at a local wall, whilst the other two days are spent outside at a variety of crags, taking in the delights of both sport and traditional style climbing.
We base our courses in Llanberis and maximise the use of crags in and around Snowdonia National Park.

Rock Climbing Instructor Assessment 
This is your chance to show what you can do, how you rig climbs and abseils and how you instruct climbing?

This course is the confirmation part of becoming a Rock Climbing Instructor where you get to display how good you are and begin your career as a Rock Climbing Instructor.
This practical, hands on assessment will have you rigging set ups, rigging abseils, using climbing equipment, leading a climbing route or several, dealing with common simple problems to solve, running sessions at a climbing wall and many other skills on a variety of climbing environments that fit in with the award such as traditional crags and sport climbing crags.

This is a 2 day course, with some part of it being spent indoors at a local wall, whilst the remainder is outside at a variety of crags.
We base our courses in Llanberis and maximise the use of crags in and around Snowdonia National Park.
